Jonathan Clauss will feel very lonely when training resumes on Monday: he is the only professional full-back at Olympique de Marseille. And again, he’s more of a plunger. On loan respectively from Arsenal and Manchester City, Nuno Tavares and Issa Kaboré have returned to their club. As for Sead Kolasinac, his contract expired on June 30 and it will not be extended, as detailed by L’Équipe.

The Bosnian defender (30 years old) had however been very useful, especially in a three-man defense. A system that Marcelino, successor to Igor Tudor on the OM bench, will not use. The club nevertheless wanted to keep him, but Kolasinac had a much better offer from Atalanta Bergamo (2 M€/year until 2025 plus an optional year).

Kolasinac must commit in the coming days with the Italian club, 5th in Serie A and qualified for the Europa League. He arrived free in Marseille in January 2022, from Arsenal, and comes out of a season with 41 matches including 31 starts. OM, for their part, ticked the name of Thierry Correia. A 24-year-old right-back, the Portuguese has been in Valencia, 16th in La Liga, for three seasons.
