Serbian striker Andrej Ilic has signed for Losc until 2027 from the Norwegian club Valerenga, the northern club announced on Thursday, which finally manages to attract the striker it has been seeking to recruit since last summer . The arrival of a No.9 capable of replacing the Canadian Jonathan David was the Mastiffs’ priority during the winter transfer market, which closes this evening, after the failure of the last summer transfer window.

The tall (1.93 m) 23-year-old is the third Lille recruit in as many days after the arrivals of Portuguese international hopefuls Tiago Morais and Rafael Fernandes, respectively in the positions of versatile attacker and central defender.

“I am very happy to be here, in this great club that is Losc and in this great championship that is Ligue 1. It is one of the biggest leagues in the world and I am in one of the best clubs in this league,” declared the player, who will have the No. 24, in the club press release. A native of Belgrade, Ilic only played half of the season in the Norwegian championship, in which he still scored eleven goals in sixteen matches, and two in four qualifying matches for the Europa Conference League.

Ilic will enter a rotation with three players at the forefront with Jonathan David, therefore, but also the Turk Yusuf Yazici, even if the Losc coach prefers to align him in support of the Canadian. “We are very happy to welcome Andrej who has a different and complementary profile to that of the offensive players we have in our squad,” indicated club president Olivier Létang, specifying that the winter transfer window had closed for Losc.
