Atalanta Bergamo (Italy) Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund, 20, has signed a five-year contract with Manchester United, the English club said on Saturday. The transfer fee is estimated at 64 million pounds (about 74 million euros). Hojlund has signed up until June 2028, plus an optional year. The youngster scored 10 goals for Atalanta last season as well as six goals in six appearances for Denmark.

“It’s no secret that I’ve been a fan of this great club since I was little and always dreamed of playing at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player,” Hojlund said. “It’s still early in my career, but I know I’m ready to take this step,” he added, described by Manchester football director John Murtough as “truly exceptional talent”. “He has qualities that place him among the best players in the world in his age category.”

According to the press, Rasmus Hojlund was also tracked by Paris Saint-Germain. Manchester United, third last season in the English league, will start the new fiscal year by hosting Wolverhampton on August 14.
