The MotoGP riders are gathered in Qatar for the last official tests before the start of the season. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) was the fastest of the first day on the Lusail circuit. He is ahead of his rival Jorge Martin (Pramac), who was the fastest during the first day of pre-season testing, and Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia).
Few surprises punctuated the day, with performances improving as night fell. Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) and Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) narrowly managed to enter the top 10 after spending time at the bottom of the timesheet.
Marc Marquez (Ducati Gresini) continues his familiarization with his new bike, ranking 16th at the end of the day. The drivers will have a final day of testing on Tuesday before the start of the season.
