The Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac), leader in the MotoGP world championship, will start in pole position for the French Grand Prix, after setting the best time in qualifying at Le Mans on Saturday, while Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) will start 8th.

First driver to complete the 4.19 km Bugatti circuit in less than 1min 30sec, “Martinator” will start in front of the double reigning champion and second overall, the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) during the sprint race on Saturday afternoon. (3:00 p.m.) and the GP on Sunday (2:00 p.m.)

The Spaniard Maverick Vinales, 3rd best time, will complete the first row aboard his Aprilia.

Carried by his public, Fabio Quartararo will start 8th – his best result of the season in qualifying – behind the 19-year-old Spanish nugget Pedro Acosta, driver of the French team GasGas Tech3, 7th.

Having passed through the repechage (Q1) during qualifying, Marc Marquez, who missed his ticket for the second part of qualifying (Q2) by 108/1000th, where pole is at stake, will start 13th, his worst result of the year.

The other Frenchman on the grid, Johann Zarco, took the 15th time on Saturday morning and will start far ahead of the South African Brad Binder (KTM), 7th in the championship, but 22nd and last at the end of qualifying.
