Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac), second in the MotoGP world championship, won the sprint of the Japanese Grand Prix and is eight points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), 3rd on Saturday on the Motegi track.
Starting from pole position, the Spaniard dominated this twelve-lap race from start to finish and finished ahead of South African BRad Binder (KTM) and the reigning Italian champion Bagnaia. The Australian Jack Miller (KTM) and the French Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac) complete the Top 5.
The six-time Spanish world champion Marc Marquez (Honda) finished in 7th position while the French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), crowned in 2021, crossed the finish line in a modest 15th place, very far from the points intended for the top nine.
