French pivot Rudy Gobert denounced the “clown attitude” of Draymond Green, who choked him Tuesday during a match between Minnesota and Golden State, calling on the NBA to “do what needs to be done” for a suspension .

On Tuesday, the 33-year-old American threw himself into a scuffle by strangling the Frenchman Rudy Gobert with his arm from behind and for several seconds, particularly violent images, at the very beginning of a match ultimately won by the Timberwolves ( 104-101).

“I hope the league will do what needs to be done because it’s a clown attitude,” denounced Gobert at a press conference.

To the French specialized media Basket USA, he told in more detail the scene, started by an altercation between his teammate Jaden McDaniels and Klay Thompson.

“You can see in the video, I wanted to make sure the situation wasn’t going to get worse and I tried to separate them. And then I felt someone grab me by the neck. Right away, I said to myself: I’m not going to fight because my team needs me. And so I put my hands in the air to show the referees that I wasn’t doing anything and I waited for the situation to end. Nothing more.”

“He (Green) knows me. He knows very well that I never started a fight and he saw that I didn’t do anything to Klay (Thompson). So yes, he did it on purpose, it was a deliberate attack. End of story,” added Gobert.

“I’m proud of myself, I didn’t lower myself to his level, as usual. He doesn’t deserve that I put my hands on him (…) I hope that the league will make decisions because this is behavior that is not acceptable.

Expelled, Green risks a heavy suspension, he being used to bad gestures, who for example hit a teammate in training last year.

The 33-year-old American has never hidden his lack of sympathy towards Rudy Gobert, with whom he had already clashed on social networks in recent years.
