Frenchman Evan Fournier, until now confined to the bench of the New York Knicks, played for the first time in the NBA season on Friday during his team’s victory against Washington (120-99).

Fournier (31) had not played with New York since April 9 and the last match of the 2022-2023 regular season. Friday, in Washington, he played a little over 15 minutes of play, scored 2 points (1 of 6 shooting), took 1 rebound and offered 1 assist.

Opposite, rookie Bilal Coulibaly played more than 30 minutes for 6 points (2 of 7), 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

A major player in Orlando from 2014 to 2021, Fournier then briefly moved to Boston before joining the Knicks in the summer of 2021 where his situation deteriorated last season, before his coach Tom Thibodeau did without him completely.

This executive from the French team, who is aiming for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, is under contract with the Knicks until spring 2025.
