Philadelphia continues to be doing well after its victory against Toronto last night (121-111). Joel Embiid recovered from an ankle injury to score 31 points and grab 10 rebounds at home against the Raptors, his 13th straight game with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds. He can aim for the streak of 16 consecutive games with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds established by legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1971-1972. The reigning NBA MVP was able to count on the enormous contribution of his teammates Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris who each scored 33 points. Solid 3rd in the Eastern Conference, Philadelphia is only one victory away from Boston and Milwaukee.

In Brooklyn, the defending champion Denver was able to count on Jamal Murray, who scored 32 points, and on Nikola Jokic, who added 31 points and 11 rebounds, while the locals produced a good overall performance with seven players more than ten points. The Nuggets held off the Nets at the end of the game, notably thanks to Aaron Gordon (18 pts) and Michael Porter Jr. (15 pts). The Denver Nuggets thus scored a fourth victory in a row away from home by winning in Brooklyn against the Nets (122-117). Michael Malone’s players consolidate their third place in the Western Conference.

The Sacramento Kings, who took the measure at home to the Phoenix Suns (120-105), can greatly thank Domantas Sabonis. The Lithuanian pivot compiled 28 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes spent on the floor. De’Aaron Fox also made a big contribution with 23 points and seven assists. For the Suns, Kevin Durant, like Sabonis, scored 28 points, but he only managed two passes. Devin Booker remained stuck at 24 units.

In Miami, Tyler Herro scored 30 points and Duncan Robinson scored 21 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter to allow the Heat, deprived of Jimmy Butler, to win a precious victory (122-113) over the Hawks of Atlanta. The Heat, who trailed by 11 points at the start of the third quarter, resisted a double-double (30 points and 13 assists) from Atlanta star Trae Young, his sixth consecutive game with at least 30 points and 10 passes. The Florida franchise is 6th in the East before going to challenge Philadelphia on Monday.
