After six years without a victory at Goodison Park, the Gunners won (1-0) against the Toffees. Despite a fairly dismal meeting, Mikel Arteta’s men provided the essentials by winning by the smallest of margins and placed themselves fourth in the Premier League, tied with Liverpool and Tottenham.

But this evening, their coach Mikel Arteta, a disciple of Guardiola, probably did not have to be fully satisfied with his team’s performance. Martinelli thought he would offer a thrill of happiness to the Gunners supporters, but his goal was canceled for an offside by a generally uninspired Nketiah (20′). Entering the game in place of Martinelli at the first of the period, the Belgian quickly stood out with his speed and his calls. Faced with a well-established and aggressive Everton block, he did good by cleverly placing himself on his left side. In the 46th minute, it was Odegaard who came up against an attentive Pickford. Then the Gunners finally opened the scoring through Trossard, who placed a nice volley on a cross from Saka in the 69th minute. They could even have doubled the lead when Odegaard, launched from deep, once again saw his shot saved by Pickford (77′). The entry of Calvert-Lewin for Everton in the 66th minute was not enough to liven up a team that was not enterprising enough at home. In the end, Arsenal provides the essentials and remains two points behind Manchester City, with four victories in five matches.
