Jamaal Lascelles at the heart of a police investigation. The English Magpies player got involved in a fight in Newcastle city center on the night of Saturday August 19 to Sunday August 20. Back after the 1-0 loss at Manchester City, Lascelles, accompanied by his brother, was reportedly threatened with being shot by a gang during a fight, according to the Daily Mail. A video of the scene is circulating on social media.
Following the setback against the Cityzens, Eddie Howe’s players had benefited from two days off. According to the British media, Lascelles and his brother had just left a nightclub, the “Chinawhite”, when the latter, aged 19, was surprised by a nudge in the throat by a man. A witness reportedly said the 29-year-old defender intervened to push the man away.
According to the first elements, a bottle of vodka would then have been thrown towards Lascelles and would have just missed his head. A group of six to eight men then allegedly attacked the Nottingham Forest-trained player before he was hit.
