Four points were withdrawn on March 18 from the 1978 English champion and double European champion (1979, 1980) for having exceeded the ceiling for authorized financial losses by 34.5 million pounds (some 40 million euros). , set at 61 million pounds in his case, according to the Premier League.
In application of this sanction, Forest slipped from 17th to 18th place, becoming relegated.
It is the second Premier League club sanctioned this season for financial reasons after Everton, who received an initial withdrawal of ten points in November, reduced to six on appeal in February.
The appeal is not suspensive, according to the rules of the Premier League, which manages the elite of English football.
