All eyes were focused elsewhere. On the Champions League in particular. The late Matchday 17 match between Bournemouth and Luton, far from the radar, was the scene of a spectacular reversal of the situation.

The BBC reports: “Bournemouth and Luton played one of the most extraordinary Premier League matches of this or any recent season. Bournemouth won 4-3, after trailing by three goals at the break.

Solanke (50th), Zabarnyi (62nd) and Semenyo (64th and 83rd) finally snatched the crazy victory at home.

The BBC notes: “Bournemouth thus became the fifth team in the history of the Premier League to win a match in which they were trailing by three goals, and the third to do so in a match in which they were trailing 3-0 at halftime.”

Bournemouth are in 13th place in the Premier League table, Luton in 18th.
