French defender Raphaël Varane will be out for “a few weeks” due to injury and will miss the match at Arsenal on Sunday, his club Manchester United announced on Wednesday, whose infirmary is already full. Erik ten Hag’s side are without several major players ahead of their trip to London for the final Premier League game before the international break.
Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, rookie Rasmus Hojlund are currently injured and Tyrell Malacia, Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo and Tom Heaton have yet to play this season.
Varane was injured in the first half of the match of the 3rd day on Saturday against Nottingham Forest (won 3-2 by the Red Devils) and was replaced at half-time, explained in a statement the club without specifying the nature of his injury. The 30-year-old ex-international has suffered several injuries since joining Old Trafford in 2021.
