Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish has returned to the form he enjoyed when the club won the treble last season, manager Pep Guardiola said ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Luton Town.

The 28-year-old made 50 appearances during City’s 2022-23 campaign, scoring five goals and registering 11 assists to help his side win the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup. However, his time Play has been limited this season due to injuries. Grealish has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists. He returned to action at the end of March and played a key role in the 3-3 draw against Real Madrid in quarter-final first leg of the Champions League.

“We are very happy (with Grealish),” Guardiola told reporters on Friday. “We miss him. He must continue until the end at this level. He needs to improve in certain areas, finishing for example, but it’s the Jack we know from last season who has helped us achieve that again. This season, he unfortunately could not be present (throughout the season). But I’m sure he learned his lesson and will try to help us next season. Not (just) next year, but the years he has ahead of him in his career (I hope he) can perform at this level.”
