PSG launched with this series of five victories: “This is what all coaches want, we always aim for the best results, while having our style of play. I am obviously happy. What I see is positive. The objective is to continue to be efficient and to further increase our level of performance.”

The content: “I am very satisfied. Montpellier was the best team we faced at the Parc des Princes since the start of the season. I really liked the way they played. It was hard to take the ball from them. They have different ways of playing. Short game, long game, short or long combination… It was difficult when they attacked in spaces. It was complicated in the first half, but we scored on our first opportunity, we were calmer. And in the second half, we did very well. If we had slowed down, it could have become complicated.”

Randal Kolo Muani and the competition ahead: “He had a key role in all matches, and the same goes for Gonçalo Ramos and Marco Asensio. I am happy with these players. Randal is a very versatile player, brilliant technically and physically. They all have a great mentality. And I’m happy with the players I have up front.”

The right lane Dembélé/Hakimi: “What instructions? Everyone has the same ones. We have to do everything possible offensively and defensively. This is what we have been doing since the start of the season. There are areas to improve, but the team’s attitude is at the top level in all matches, in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League. Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi are doing very well.”

Kang-in Lee: “Satisfied? Yes. Kang-in Lee has played in Spain for a long time. We’ve known him for a while. He’s a great signing from Luis Campos and the club and I’m lucky to have joined the club while he was already there. He is a player that all supporters can love. He is young, he has a lot of quality, desire, he spares no effort in attack or defense… He does not lose the ball under pressure. He makes good decisions. He can score, as we saw tonight, and he is hungry. Hunger is very important for a player to progress. Another very good player in our squad.”

The Parisians are visibly enjoying themselves on the pitch: “The fruit of five victories in a row or of a better understanding over the weeks? Both ! It goes together. If you don’t have results, it’s harder to progress. The results generate the confidence of the players and the team. It’s great to see the supporters appreciate the victories of course, but also when we recover the balls in the opponent’s half, when we press the opponent. They were also impressed by Ousmane Dembélé who came to collect balls. Making an assist is like making an assist for Manuel Ugarte. It’s important that every player on the team knows that they have to defend and be a full member of the team. We need 11 complete players on the pitch to have a complete team. And that’s what all the supporters like. I’m happy with all of this.”
