Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said on Saturday that he “needs nothing” for the winter transfer window, while his team faces several absences in the coming weeks.

“I don’t need anything, I already have everything, I have a lot of players and good players. But there is work with the sports management, we are open to improving the team at each transfer window,” explained the Spaniard at a press conference, on the eve of the trip to Lens (7th, 26 points) at the Bollaert stadium (8:45 p.m.).

“In the transfer window, we are attentive, open. Needs? We don’t have any,” he insisted, while the club formalized on January 1 the arrival of a player, defender Lucas Beraldo, since the opening of the transfer window.

“There is definitely a time of adaptation. There it’s summer, here it’s winter. He’s doing well, he’s adapting. He is very mature for his age. We are like a family, in this club. We try to ensure that its adaptation is rapid,” commented Luis Enrique.

Expected in Paris, another Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, who announced that he will have to undergo a foot operation, has not yet signed, while PSG must deal with several injuries including that of defender Milan Skriniar and the absences of Achraf Hakimi, who went to the CAN and Lee Kang-In to the Asian Cup.

“As a staff, we never complain about the absence of players,” assured the coach, who also has to do without Presnel Kimpembe and Nuno Mendes, injured for several months and who should not return for several weeks.

Asked about the adaptation of these players who arrived this summer and in particular Manuel Ugarte, the technician indicated that he was “not at all worried”. “None of my players give me any concerns. This is the life of a big club. It’s a process that has nothing to do with age, but with the moment, events in your life or different things,” he said.

“I already knew you were going to like this sentence where I said we were going to be stronger in February. There I see that you are passing it along with the king cake and you want the team to be better. It’s not 1 1=2, it’s a process,” Luis Enrique also explained, “optimistic” and adding that his team “will be better in February, in March, in April, in May, in June.”
