The circumstances of Ezequiel Lavezzi’s injuries on Wednesday in Uruguay still remain unclear. The former PSG striker was reportedly cut in the abdomen and also had a fractured collarbone. According to TyC Sports, the Argentinian was transferred to hospital Wednesday evening in Buenos Aires aboard a police car, in the company of his partner. Lavezzi underwent several examinations before being placed under observation to monitor the condition of his injuries. According to family sources, the ex-Parisian was the victim of a domestic accident. “Pocho” allegedly slipped from a ladder while changing a light bulb in his house. The fall would have caused a broken collarbone and several cuts to the Argentinian. The police have a very different version of the facts.

The first elements of the investigation evoke an altercation between Lavezzi and several people during an evening. “Pocho” would then have been injured in the collarbone and abdomen. A police patrol and a rescue unit were also called to take care of the former Neapolitan during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, around 5 a.m. The director of the Cantergil hospital center, Maria del Carmen Lorente, where Lavezzi is admitted, gave reassuring news of the former Argentina international to ESPN. “I can confirm that he fell, he had trauma at a social event and he fractured his collarbone, which is why he is admitted here. He is stable and tests have been done, the traumatologist has seen him, for the moment there is no surgical intervention. These are rather superficial injuries. He is immobilized and will remain under observation for a few hours. The ambulance brought him in and as it was at an event, at a party, where he fell and was injured, the police were called. I can’t say anything else.” To be continued…
