Some defeats are not illogical; we think of those of Lucas Van Assche against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, of the phoenix Lucas Pouille against Cameron Norrie, or even of Corentin Moutet against Andrey Rublev. Others, on the other hand, are disappointing. Like that of Ugo Humbert against Lorenzo Sonego. But especially that of Caroline Garcia. Despite a good start, the world number 5, did not manage to pass the second round, beaten on the wire by the Russian Anna Blinkova.
A new disappointment for the Tricolores in the Parisian tournament … which recalls the sketch of the Inconnus entitled Stade 2 in which the comic trio makes fun of a French player – the misnamed Henri Toubon – who has heavily (6-0 , 6-0, 6-0) lost at Roland-Garros. Despite the weight of the years, this sketch has not aged a bit. It is hoped that it will appear a little outdated next year.
