Scotland winger Duhan van der Merwe scored two second-half tries to launch Le Chardon’s XV towards the Rugby World Cup in France for a 33-6 victory over Georgia at Murrayfield on Saturday. The visitors led 6-0 at half-time, but the floodgates opened for the Scots in the second half.

Winger Kyle Steyn, flanker Rory Darge and number eight Jack Dempsey also scored a try. Georgia’s points came from fly half Luka Matkava. The Lelos showed great courage in defense in the first 40 minutes but couldn’t sustain their effort after the break.

Concern for their experienced hooker Shalva Mamukashvili, who limped off just before half-time in his 100th Test with his country.

Note the presence in the stands of Murrayfield of the star Gerard Butler.
