AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud, sent off on Saturday during the match in Lecce (2-2), received a two-match suspension, the Italian Football League announced on Tuesday.

The Frenchman, author of his team’s opening score at the start of the match, received a yellow card in added time for protest, then a second immediately due to “insulting remarks towards the referee”, indicated the league.

The Milan club, which has not won in the league since the beginning of October and was caught in the score in Lecce while leading 2-0, will have to do without its top scorer (7 goals in Serie A) during the receptions of Fiorentina on November 25 and Frosinone on December 2.
