Juventus Turin’s French international Paul Pogba is among the substitutes for his team’s first match of the 2023-24 Italian Championship in Udine on Sunday (8:45 p.m.), according to the composition of the teams.

Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri chose to line up in the middle, alongside Adrien Rabiot, Manuel Locatelli and Fabio Miretti.

Pogba, who suffered a long knee and then thigh injury last season, only played ten games in 2022-23 and has missed all of Juve’s warm-up matches this summer, except one played behind closed doors this week where he was lined up for 40 minutes.

On Saturday, Allegri explained that he was “happy with the work done by Paul”: “but you have to remember that he is coming out of almost a year and a half of inactivity”, he warned.

Arrived this summer from Lille, Timothy Weah, 23, will make his debut in Serie A as a right midfielder.
