A goal from Cristante in added time allowed Roma to win 2-1 on Thursday evening in their match of the 32nd day interrupted on April 14 after the discomfort of their Franco-Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka. The 24-year-old defender collapsed in the 70th minute. There had been fears of a heart attack for Ndicka, who was immediately treated and transported to a hospital in Udine where he spent a night under observation. The diagnosis turned out to be less alarmist, the extensive examinations having excluded any cardiac pathology and simply noted a “minimal pneumothorax”, according to the club. Ndicka received the medical green light at the beginning of the week to resume physical activity.

The match, interrupted by the referee when the two teams were tied 1-1, resumed Thursday evening in the 71st minute. It was not until added time that Cristante gave AS Roma the three points of victory. In the standings, the club consolidates its 5th qualifying place for the Europa League with now four points ahead of 6th, Atalanta Bergamo, and six over its rival Lazio.
