Alex Burin, right pillar of Agen, in Pro D2, was summoned with the XV of France to prepare for the next match of the Six Nations Tournament against Italy in place of Thomas Laclayat, forfeited, the French Federation announced on Sunday rugby. Laclayat was injured in the ribs during Racing 92’s home defeat against Montpellier (44-20) on Saturday for the 15th day of the Top 14.

Ahead of the Rochelais Uini Atonio and the Toulouse Dorian Aldegheri in the hierarchy of the position among the Blues, he did not participate in the first two matches of the Tournament, a heavy defeat against Ireland (38-17) and a narrow victory in Scotland (20-16).

Aged 24, his replacement in the group, Burin, plays in the second division and had never before been called up to Marcoussis. He played 14 games this season with Agen, including 12 as a starter, and was crowned under-20 world champion in 2019 with the Bleuets. France will face Italy next Sunday in Lille for the 3rd day of the Tournament.
