Second French medal at the World Sports Shooting Championships: Clément Bessaguet took silver on Tuesday in the 25m rapid-fire pistol at the World Championships in Baku.
Already vice-world champion last year and current world No.1 Clément Bessaguet had to bow, with his 30 points, in the final against the Chinese Li Yuehong (39 points out of 40 possible).
The latter signed a new world record for a final. The previous one (38 points) had been held since 2018 by South Korean Kim Junhong.
The French Olympic champion in Tokyo Jean Quiquampoix did not qualify for the final.
With Bessaguet, the French sports shooting team won its second medal in these Worlds after the bronze of the young French pair composed of Océanne Muller, 20, and Romain Aufrère, 18, in the 10m rifle by mixed team .
