World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, just crowned at Wimbledon, won again at the Hopman Cup in Nice on Saturday against Borna Coric (6-3, 6-7, 10-5), however not preventing the elimination of Spain before the double against Croatia.
Alcaraz won the first set 6-3, let the second slip away 7-6, before dominating the super tie-break 10-5.
But even before entering the court, Spain were eliminated after the defeat of their compatriot Rebeka Masarova against Donna Vekic (6-2, 6-1), while it needed a 3-0 victory for Spain against Croatia to hope to reach the final against Switzerland on Sunday.

Croatia or Belgium will face Switzerland, already qualified, in the final. Everything will be decided after the Spain-Croatia mixed doubles disputed in the evening.
