The Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (19th in the world), thanks to his victory in the quarterfinals over the Chilean Nicolas Jarry (22nd) 7-6 (7/2), 6-4, Friday, reaches the semi-finals of the Masters 1000 in Shanghai.

Dimitrov, who had lost his two previous confrontations against the Chilean, will face on Saturday in the last four the winner of the last quarter-final between the Russian Andrey Rublev (7th) and the Frenchman Ugo Humbert (34th).

In the first set marked by a battle of services, during which Dimitrov had obtained the only break point, the Bulgarian made the difference in the decisive game, by concluding on the first of the four opportunities which he had obtained in leading 6 points to 2.

In the second set, he achieved the only break of the match at 3-3, to confirm it and break away 5-3 before concluding the game victoriously on his serve.
