Coco Gauff, 7th in the world, qualified for the semi-finals of the Eastbourne grass tournament on Thursday by dismissing her compatriot Jessica Pegula (4th) 6-3, 6-3.

Gauff, who made a name for herself by beating Venus Williams in the first round of Wimbledon in 2019, had yet to win this year against a Top 10 player.

She will try to climb into the final by facing another of her compatriots on Friday, Madison Keys (25th), who dismissed the Croatian Petra Martic (30th) 6-4, 6-1.

Gauff and Pegula teamed up in doubles at Eastbourne where they qualified for the semi-finals.
