Frenchman Ugo Humbert was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing on Monday, dominated by Russian Daniil Medvedev. Humbert, 36th in the world, managed to grab the second set against the world No.3, but he was ultimately beaten in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-1) in just over two hours of play .
The Mosellan’s journey therefore ends in the quarter-finals although he had managed in the previous round to dismiss another Russian member of the Top 10, Andrey Rublev (6th). For his part, Medvedev will meet in the semi-final the winner of the confrontation between the German Alexander Zverev, 10th, and the Chilean Nicolas Jarry, 23rd.
