Adrian Mannarino (19th in the world) was eliminated as soon as he entered the fray by the American Marcos Giron 6-0, 6-7 (5/7), 6-1, Wednesday at the ATP 250 tournament in Delray Beach (Florida).

Mannarino remained in a semi-final in Dallas, lost to the same opponent (6-1, 6-3).

The French No.2, behind Ugo Humbert, was swept 6-0 in the first set before recovering and snatching the second in the deciding game. But in the third set, he was again largely dominated, scoring only one game.

Winner of three tournaments last year, the former French No.1, aged 35, was eliminated in the round of 16 of the Australian Open in January by world No.1 Novak Djokovic 6-0, 6-0, 6-3.
