Frenchwoman Diane Parry was eliminated in the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami (Florida, United States) on Thursday, while her compatriots Harold Mayot and Alexandre Müller were eliminated in the first round of the men’s tournament.
Diane Parry (54th in the world), who reached the round of 16 in Indian Wells last week, was eliminated in three sets by the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia (13th in the world) 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.
Harold Mayot (141st), from qualifying, fell to German Daniel Altmaier (54th) 6-2, 7-5 in the first round among men. Alexandre Müller was defeated by the South Korean Soonwoo Kwon 7-6, 6-3. Veteran Gaël Monfils (37) enters the tournament later in the day.
