Iga Swiatek, world No.1, qualified Thursday with great authority for the semi-finals of the Bad Homburg grass tournament by dismissing Russian Anna Blinkova (39th) 6-3, 6-2 in 1:10.

On a surface that is not her favorite, she was also playing the quarter-finals there for the first time, the Polish woman notably won 20 of the last 21 points of the match.

“I’m not an expert on the grass game, but I’m making progress. Every year I feel like it’s better than the last,” Swiatek commented.

“I hope to play like this for another three weeks!” She said in reference to Wimbledon which begins on Monday and where she once reached the round of 16 (2021) in three appearances.

She will face for a place in the final in Bad Homburg the Italian Lucia Bronzetti (65th) who earlier eliminated Varvara Gracheva (43rd), just naturalized French.
