The Polish world No.1 Iga Swiatek reached the 3rd round of the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells (California, United States) by beating the Czech Linda Noskova on Sunday, who had eliminated her at the same stage of the Australian Open in January.

Having difficulty at the start of the match and trailing 4-2 in the first set, Swiatek then adjusted to win the next ten games and inflict a scathing defeat on the 29th player in the world (6-4, 6-0), in a very sparsely filled Stadium N.1.

Noskova created a surprise at the Australian Open by beating Swiatek in the 3rd round (3-6, 6-3, 6-4).

Swiatek will challenge in the round of 16 either the American Madison Keys (20th in the world) or the Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (79th).
