Part of the Milan pilot project of the Spotter, the App social parking that, through the sharing of information, a series of rewards for the users, the virtuosi, and a system of social rating, allows you to create a real community of drivers. Users of the Spotter will be able to find a parking spot without wasting time, sharing information on places in the street are left free. According to Istat data, the difficulty to find parking is perceived by the italians as the second issue most important of those connected with the mobility. In particular, in Milan the perception of the problem is higher than in a metropolis such as Manhattan. That’s why 3 young entrepreneurs, Jader and Jona Manno, Alessio Mazzotta, to which is united then Alberto Stecconi, looked for a solution.

How does the app work? Among the various functions, who gives the place receives, as a reward, loyalty points called sPoints, to be used to get Amazon vouchers and Gift Cards of all types, or to convert to coins, tokens used to acquire the information on the parking spaces of other users. The latter, of course, you can also buy directly. “Our App allows users to share information on parking, reducing 20 percent of the time wasted, fuel consumption and Co2 emissions,” explains Jader Manno, CEO of Spotter, and it is the first to have a system of reward and a social rating that they can encourage the sharing virtuous information. Our goal is also to improve the mobility of Milan, which is, unfortunately, be among the busiest cities of the world”.

Today, all the major cities of the world aim to become smart, through the smart mobility, and Milan is no exception; for this reason it was chosen for the pilot project of the Spotter. According to a research by the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Centre for Research on Transportation and Infrastructure, University Cattaneo – LIUC, Castellanza, Milan, a fifth of the time in the car is spent to search for a parking.

If we consider the only morning (time range: 10-12), we arrive at a third of the time. In addition, the situation changes from area to area. Those coming from Piazzale Loreto and want to park in piazza San Babila employs in the morning the 17 percent of the time, in the afternoon, the 21.5 per cent. Who, then, coming from the Arch of Peace wants to park to the Sforzesco Castle, must resign themselves to spending on average more than 30 percent of the time for the coveted place drive, even in the morning, almost 42 percent, while the afternoon 33.5 per cent. In short, has to spend more than a third of his time in the car to search for parking. A code of conduct is to identify the guidelines for users of Spotters to ensure the road safety and the correct functioning of the App. Inappropriate behavior repeated lead to definitive exclusion from the app.

Founded by three young milanese entrepreneurs App Social Parking aims to simplify the lives of motorists who live in big cities, reducing stress, and loss of time, and helps improve the environment by reducing Co2 emissions and consumption of gasoline. The business model is a win-win and is based on the exchange of information, allowing motorists leaving the parking lot to share the location and get rewards in Amazon vouchers.
