Remember Ford Puma? That car’s a bit lower than that often the streets between the end of 1999 and the beginning of the millennium? Forget it, because the car that the american giant is going to market with the same name is something quite different: a crossover-inspired SUV with engine 1.0 three-cylinder 155 HP EcoBoost Hybrid with battery-ion-lithium 48 volt.
Many things on board, starting from the Ford Co-Pilot that incorporates the latest technologies of driver assistance like Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go, Speed Sign Recognition,Lane Centring and Local Haz ard Information, the new functionality of warning of danger in real time, which informs drivers of any dangerous situations on the road ahead before they are seen or detected by sensors of the car.
“our customers have expressed the desire to have a vehicle compact with a charming look that also offers you solutions adapted to every day life,” says Stuart Rowley, President, Ford of Europe. “The result is our Puma – charismatic, practical and technological”. Puma is one of the 14 models electrified that Ford will introduce by 2020. As already announced, in 2019, every new vehicle launched from the Blue Oval after the Focus, will have at least one electrified version.
The technology EcoBoost Hybrid augments the gasoline engine EcoBoost 1.0 3-cylinder system with a starter/generator (BISG) driven by a belt from 11.5 kW, which replaces the standard alternator, thus allowing the recovery and storage of energy during deceleration of the vehicle and charging a battery pack pc lithium-ion 48-volt, air-cooled.
The BISG also serves as a motor, and is integrated with the three-cylinder engine, it uses the stored energy to provide assistance to the torque power of the engine while driving and the acceleration is normal, in addition to operate the electrical accessories of the vehicle.

Our technology EcoBoost Hybrid elevates this look to the next level,” said Roelant de Waard, vice president Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford of Europe. “We believe that our customers will appreciate the energy delivery fluid and fast our engines, EcoBoost, Hybrid as much as the trips less frequent in the petrol pumps”.
Puma is presented with set well-defined, including the sports ST-Line, and the elegant Titanium. The latter offers premium finishes and light alloy rims 10-spoke 18’ Pearl Grey, details in black gloss and chrome grille honeycomb, the frames of the fog lamps, the side skirts, while the rear diffuser and skid plate have reflected gray metallic. The rear view mirrors in body color, include integrated turn signals and position lights, which illuminate the adjacent land, when they are open.
inside, Puma Titanium X is the first Ford equipped with seat covers, removable and washable, and equipped with an integrated system of hinges that you can remove them easily using a single hand.“We wanted Puma Titanium X was cosy and comfortable, just like home, so we used colors, finishes, and interior design overall that would reflect that environment,” said Sonja Vandenberk, Chief Designer, Colour and Materials, Ford of Europe.
The Puma ST-Line-X, inspired by Ford’s Performance, is proposed instead with alloy rims 18’ or 19’ color matt black, and sport suspension with springs and shock absorbers, dedicated, as well as the pedals made of aluminium. In the front, the grille, ST-Line, with elements of black matt and frame a glossy, like that of the fog lamps and a roof spoiler bigger and more functional. A palette of 10 vibrant exterior colors includes Blazer Blue Frozen White, Race Red, Solar Silver, Agate Black, Lucid Red, Grey-Matter, Desert Island, the Blue, the Magnetic Metropolis and White.
