Aviron Bayonnais offers itself some extra weight. Argentinian international winger Mateo Carreras, author of three tries during the 2023 World Cup, will wear the colors of Bayonne for the next two seasons, the Basque club announced on Wednesday.
Carreras, 23, has been playing for Newcastle, a Premiership club, since 2020, for whom he played 37 matches and scored 16 tries.
International U20 and VII, this small winger (1.73 m) who played for the Jaguares has 17 selections for the Pumas. He played six matches at the World Cup in France, notably scoring a hat-trick against Japan in a decisive group match for qualifying for the quarters.
