Scrum half Sébastien Bézy and Australian fullback Alex Newsome have extended their contract with ASM Clermont for two additional seasons, until 2026, the Clermont Top 14 club announced on Friday.

Aged 31, Bézy, trained in Toulouse where he previously played, arrived in Auvergne in 2020. He has eight caps for the French team but does not participate in the World Cup, and 75 matches with Clermont.

Newsome, 27, joined ASM in 2022 from the Australian club Waratahs and played 28 matches with the Clermont team.

The Auvergne leaders indicated that they were launching with these two executive extensions “an important period in building the squad for the next season and the following ones”.
