French international Melvyn Jaminet left Stade Toulousain and signed with Toulon until 2028, the two clubs confirmed this Thursday at the end of the day.
The 24-year-old full-back with 19 caps with the French XV, and subject to strong competition in Toulouse, joined the French champion club from Perpignan in the summer of 2022 and was committed until 2025.

According to L’Équipe, this departure with immediate effect has a cost for the RCT. The Var club will pay around 550,000 euros to buy out his contract which ran until June 2025. A sum which can raise eyebrows, the player having been trained in Toulon but not retained at the time…
Melvyn Jaminet is expected in the harbor on Monday November 27. He is therefore still available for two Top 14 matches with Stade Toulousain.
“It is with great satisfaction that we welcome to Toulon, a native of the country, who through his talent, his self-sacrifice and his hard work, was able to enrich his technical background during these visits to our neighboring clubs, then to Perpignan and Toulouse. I would like to thank Stade Toulousain and its president, Didier Lacroix, who, as is often the case, put the player’s interests before any other consideration. We now look forward to welcoming Melvyn to training and pursuing our ambitions for victories with him,” commented the president of RCT Toulon, Bernard Lemaitre.
Back from the World Cup where he only started the match against Uruguay and after only 19 matches played with Stade Toulouse, the native of Hyères (Var) therefore signs his return to RCT, his training club .
Reduced by two ankle injuries last season, Melvyn Jaminet failed to establish himself as a starter in Toulouse and lost his place in Fabien Galthié’s starting XV in favor of another Toulouse player, Thomas Ramos.
