Brice Dulin (back of La Rochelle, 26-13 winner of Clermont): “We control our first period, then we mess up a bit in the second. We expose ourselves a lot and we take counterattacks. We could have controlled the game better. There were turnover balls in both directions. We were sometimes a bit rushed. We wasted a lot of opportunities. (…) It would be lying to say that no one is thinking about this semi-final, but we also needed points today in the Top 14. We still need a few small adjustments.
There were some game times that put us on a tough streak so it’s perfect preparation for next week. We shouldn’t have gotten carried away by the pace in the second half. The 5 points tonight is the ideal way to put pressure on others and create our path for the future. Eight straight wins is good, but it’s not what allows us to win a title. We come with a lot of confidence, of course, but nothing is decided in advance.
