In the cold of Ernest-Wallon, Stade Toulousain won with the offensive bonus against Clermont (31-10) on Saturday evening, for the 8th day of Top 14. After a sluggish start to the game punctuated by numerous blunders, Antoine Dupont’s teammates scored the first try of the match thanks to Santiago Chocobares (26th).

In the second half, Thomas Ramos scored another penalty. Lucas Tauzin flew into the goal for the first time (54th) thanks to good work from Lebel before doubling the lead on a serve from Dupont ten minutes from time (70th). In the meantime, Clermont captain Simone also went to queen (65th) thanks to a crazy 50-meter race after an interception on a rough pass from Ramos. In the final moments, Baptiste Germain, after a solitary raid from Ramos, scored the offensive bonus try.

In the standings, this five-point victory allows Stade Toulousain to join the lead with 23 points, tied with Rugby Club Toulonnais, Stade Français, Racing 92 and Castres Olympique. The Section Paloise remains leader (27 points) while ASM Clermont falls to seventh place (19 points).
