The defending champion is launching the new Top 14 season this Friday evening with a trip to Bayonne. Deprived of 17 internationals, French and foreign, Stade Toulousain arrives in the Basque Country with a majority of World Cup jokers (10 players under this short-term contract, etc.) and titled hopefuls last May.
Among the jokers, will start the pillar of the world champion with the All Blacks Owen Franks and the second-line Piula Fa’asalele. Among the young shoots, we find the hooker Ian Boubila, Théo Ntamack, the brother of…, or, on the bench, Léo Banos and Paul Costes, the recent U20 world champion.
The hinge will be composed of Paul Graou and Baptiste Germain. Usual winger, Matthis Lebel is repositioned at the back.
The Bayonnais hope to succeed at the start of the season, pushed by their boiling public in a sold-out Jean-Dauger stadium.
