Méribel and Courchevel organized the Alpine Skiing World Championships last February. The protective mattresses used on this occasion will be placed in the descent (5 km) of the Col de la Loze, to ensure the protection of the runners, before taking the direction of the altiport of Courchevel.

The cycling world, shocked by the death of Swiss Gino Mäder on the Tour de Suisse on June 16, has hit the road again. Without forgetting the smile of the rider from the Bahrain Victorious team, present in all memories during the presentation of the Tour de France teams in Bilbao, in the hearts of his teammates during his team’s two stage victories (the Spaniard Pello Bilbao in Issoire during the 10th stage and the Dutchman Wout Poels in Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc during the 15th stage).

Before the start of the Tour, the International Cycling Union presented a new commission called SAFER, intended to improve the safety of riders. And the organizers of the Tour have planned to use the mattresses from the World Ski Championships. A decision which had been taken before the death of Gino Mäder but which illustrates the extreme concern of the peloton, the organizers and the authorities.
