Jonas Vingegaard lost eight seconds to his great rival Tadej Pogacar on the climb to the Puy de Dôme this Sunday when the slope hardened in the last four kilometers. “I felt pretty good. It’s a climb that suited Tadej better. I tried to follow him but he was a little better than me”, admitted the Dane not worried despite the small delay accumulated on arrival. “He took me eight seconds back but it doesn’t matter. I knew that the first week suited me less than the one which arrives. Being in yellow now fully satisfies me. I can’t wait to see what will happen in the Alps with stages that will suit me better,” added the yellow jersey, which remains 17 seconds ahead of the double winner of the Grande Boucle (2020-2021).
