Jonas Vingegaard will be surrounded by Wout Van Aert, Christophe Laporte or even Sepp Kuss in the Jumbo-Visma team formalized on Monday for the Tour de France, where the Dane will be able to count on five team members already present last year to defend his title from of Saturday.

Compared to 2022, only Primoz Roglic, resting after his victory in the Giro, and Steven Kruijswijk, who fell heavily on the Dauphiné, will be absent for this 110th edition (July 1-23).

The two men are replaced by Dylan van Baarle, winner of Paris-Roubaix in 2022 and fresh champion of the Netherlands, and Wilco Kelderman. The rest of the selection is no surprise either, with Tiesj Benoot and Nathan Van Hooydonck, confirmed riders.

Last year, the Jumbo-Visma team had a full house winning six stages as well as the three main distinctive jerseys: the yellow of the general classification (Vingegaard), the green of the points classification (Van Aert) and the one at mountain peas (Vingegaard).

“We had exceeded our wildest dreams last year (…). This year, we are going to dream big too. Our ambition is to bring the yellow jersey back to Paris,” commented the sporting director of the Dutch team, Merijn Zeeman.
