The Polish Rafal Majka (UAE) won the third stage of the Tour of Poland, counting for the World Cycling Tour, beating in the sprint the Slovenian Matej Mohoric who kept his leader’s jersey in the classification, Monday in Duszniki (south).
Another Pole, Michal Kwiatkowski, completed the podium at the end of a 162 kilometer stage which ended with the packing of a group of around fifty riders.
A breakaway of four elements animated the stage. Last survivor, the German Andreas Kron was taken up in the last climb of the day, that of Zieleniec 14 kilometers from the line.
Led by the Ineos team in the service of Kwiatkowski, the peloton then plunged into the descent before two last kilometers on a slight climb at the end of which Majka made his power speak.
The young French climber Lenny Martinez signed a good performance by taking 7th place and thus consolidated his rank in the top-10, 9th twenty seconds behind the leader.
Winner of the 2nd stage on Sunday and very attentive on Monday, Mohoric retained the lead in the general classification before the fourth stage, 199 kilometers long on Tuesday between Strzelin and Opole on a route without great relief.
