Sandro Tonali in Newcastle, it’s official. The 23-year-old defensive midfielder, who has been with AC Milan since 2020, has signed a five-year contract with the Magpies, the English club announced on Monday. Various British sources mention a transfer of up to 64 million euros. “I want to thank Newcastle because they are giving me a huge opportunity for my career,” Tonali said in a statement.
4th in the Premier League, Newcastle is qualified for the next Champions League. The reward for certain but calculated investments from the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, which became the majority shareholder at the end of 2021.
