Each year, as its Grand Slam tournament approaches, Wimbledon unveils a promotional video to present its upcoming edition. This year, the London grass tournament is aiming high with its “Always Like Never Before” campaign, the organizers hope to make this edition historic. A wish that could be granted if Novak Djokovic won his 24th Grand Slam in London. With a potential eighth title at Wimbledon, he would equal the record held by Roger Federer on the English Grand Slam. Despite this, on the trailer, the Serbian legend is not very present.

The world number 1 quadruple defending champion and big favorite of this 2023 edition only appears for half a second throughout this one-minute trailer. In addition, his passage is at the very end of the video in the background behind Elena Rybakina titled last year in the Ladies. Conversely, the other two members of the Big Three Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as well as Serena Williams are widely featured. However, the three legends of the little yellow ball will not play the tournament next July.

Beyond entering definitively into the history of Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic could in London start a new line in his well-filled list. The winner of the Australian Open and Roland-Garros this year hopes to finally achieve the calendar Grand Slam. In 2021, he was very close to reaching the Holy Grail of winning all four Grand Slam tournaments in the same year. But after winning the first three, he cracked in the US Open final against Daniil Medvedev. A victory at Wimbledon could allow him to believe in this achievement again in 2023.
