Two French doubles teams, consisting of Grégoire Barrère and Quentin Halys, as well as Constant Lestienne and Corentin Moutet, were included in the Wimbledon doubles tournament table on Tuesday after withdrawals. The Barrère / Halys pair first benefited from the withdrawal of that composed of the Romanian Victor Cornea and the Serbian Dusan Lajovic, announced the organizers. Lajovic has indeed forfeited for “fatigue”. Barrère and Halys will face in the first round their compatriot Edouard Roger-Vasselin associated with the Mexican Santiago Gonzalez. Barrère and Halys are also entered in singles: the first must face the South African Lloyd Harris in the first round and the second the Briton Daniel Evans.

In the afternoon, it was the Spanish team Albert Ramos and Bernabe Zapata, due to the latter’s “fatigue”, which gave way to Lestienne and Moutet. They will face the Colombian Nicolas Barrientos and the Portuguese Nuno Borges. The two Frenchmen had contrasting spells in the singles, Moutet outscoring compatriot Richard Gasquet 6-3, 7-5, 7-5, while Lestienne bowed to British qualifier Liam Broady 6-1, 6-3, 7- 5.
