Women's World Cup: Japan scores against Spain and takes first place in the group

Very big surprise in the clash of this group C for the first place: the Japanese won 4-0 against Spain, in a match where La Roja had the ball. Surprises on each Japanese counter, the girls of Jorge Vilda conceded four goals on five shots on target.

Thanks to a brace from Hinata Miyazawa and goals from Ueki and Tanaka, the 2011 world champions clinched first place in Group C at the expense of La Roja, who will face Switzerland in the round of 16 of the Women’s World Cup. The Japanese, for their part, will meet Norway next Saturday.

Corrected by Japan (5-0) and Spain (5-0) and already eliminated before the meeting, the Zambians come out with honors after scoring their first three goals in a World Cup thanks to Lushomo Mweemba (3rd), Barbra Banda (31st) on penalty and Racheal Kundananji (90th 3). Costa Rica, also already eliminated before the meeting, reduced the gap to the score by Melissa Herrera (48th) but therefore finished last with three defeats.
