Greece’s Miltiadis Tentoglou clinched gold in the long jump with a leap to 8.52m on jump six after a stunning final on Thursday at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
Tentoglou (25) won his first world title on his last attempt after being equalized at 8.50m and then overtaken by Jamaican Wayne Pinnock (22), whose second best try was 8.40m against 8.39m for the Greek.
The Greek Olympic champion succeeds Chinese Jianan Wang, who finished fifth with a jump of 8.05m.
Another Jamaican, Tajay Gayle, completes the podium with a jump of 8.27m.
